Dwight Cornish, PT, Director/Owner

My goal is that you will feel better when you leave than when you arrived – both physically and functionally.

I have been a licensed therapist since 1974 when I graduated with a BS from Loma Linda University. For my first four years as a physical therapist, I directed a hospital physical therapy department in Sarasota, Florida; I then returned to Loma Linda University to earn a Master’s in Public Health and a Doctorate in Public Health, specializing in Preventive Medicine and Health Science.

Over my years of experience, various master therapists have taught me methods that go beyond the fundamentals. It has been my special interest to help adults with chronic pain. I have acquired successful skills in manual therapy, craniosacral therapy release, balance and movement disorder training, therapeutic exercise training, and pool therapy.

Most of my therapy positions have been as the director of multi-therapist outpatient clinics. CORNISH PHYSICAL THERAPY is my solely-owned clinic. As such, I have established a small, individualized therapy environment where the patient’s satisfaction is more likely than in a large, protocol-driven clinical setting.

I grew up in the 60s in Oakland, California. As a young man, I worked in construction and served in the US Army Medical Corps in Germany. I attended college in northern California in the beautiful Napa Valley, where I met my wife, Jeannie. We are the proud parents of three fabulous young adult children.

My purpose is that you will leave my clinic feeling physically better and moving more functionally after the first visit, with encouraging answers to your questions.
