AQUATIC REHABILITATION

While swimming is a great exercise, we do not swim on dry land; we walk, run, bend, and carry loads. When the body cannot tolerate such activity, water reduces weight-bearing pain to optimize strength training.

Training in an underwater treadmill is excellent for hips, knees, and backs.

Once a patient steps into the treadmill chamber through the clear door, warm water is pumped into the chamber (500 gallons in 2.5 minutes). The treadmill can be adjusted forward or backward up to 10 mph for the recovering athlete or slowed to 0.5 mph to accommodate the
weak and debilitated.
